Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. I’m happy to take on new patients at this time.

  • Do you have a physical office to see clients in?

No, my sessions are 100% virtual.

  • May I contact you prior to scheduling an appointment? I’m not sure this is right for me.

Absolutely. You can call or email me to schedule a brief phone consultation so that I can understand your issues and discuss any questions or concerns that you may have.

  • Do I really need to sign the e-consent forms and fill out the “Initial Visit Intake Form” on the Patient Portal before my first visit?

Yes. By completing this prior to your appointment, I will be able to dedicate more time in our session to understanding you and your mental health concerns.

  • How long are your sessions?

Initial consultation sessions are 60 minutes. Follow-up sessions are typically 20-30 minutes.

  • How frequent will my sessions be?

Visits are scheduled as frequently as needed, but generally are monthly early on and over time become less frequent. I require that regular patients check in with me at least once every three months.

  • Do you accept insurance?

No, not directly. Although I do not participate in any insurance plans, I will provide you with the documents to support reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. This can be generous, so it’s worth exploring to see if your insurance company offers you any reimbursement.

  • What are your rates?

    Rate for Initial Visit: $600
    Rate for Follow-Up Visits: $400

  • Do you see children?

Unfortunately, I do not. I only see adults who are 18 years or older.

  • Do you accept a sliding scale if I am unable to pay the full amount?

    No.

  • What can I expect from my first session?

You will have my undivided attention. I will ask questions that allow me to get to know you better and help guide the treatment. By the end of the session, I will discuss my understanding of the issues and provide treatment recommendations. These may evolve and change over time as we continue to work together. You will have time to ask any questions you may have.

  • I already have a therapist. How would this fit in with my treatment?

I will always strive to maintain open communication with your therapist (with your permission) to improve your treatment. I am available to your therapist by telephone or virtually with the use of my telemedicine software. I will be happy to discuss how your medication management fits together with your ongoing therapy.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

I value and respect your time and expect the same in return. I keep a 48 business hour cancellation policy and will charge a full session’s fee for missed appointments or cancellations without adequate notice.

  • What are your hours?

My hours are somewhat flexible and I will try my best to meet with clients outside of their busy work schedules if that is needed.

  • Is what I share with you confidential?

Yes, anything that you share with me is completely confidential, unless you provide me with written authorization to disclose information to another individual or agency.

However, under various state laws, exceptions generally exist if I feel you are a danger to yourself or to others.

  • What states are you currently seeing patients in?
